Rwenshama Women Traders Association (RWOTA) is an Association of women doing business around Rwenshama landing site on the shores of Lake Edward, in Western Uganda. The Association brings together women involved in fish trading, food vending and other commercial activities taking place at the landing site.

Our Objectives

The Association brings together women involved in fish trading, food vending
and other commercial activities taking place at the landing site.
To address discrimination which remains and continues to excludewomen from economic governance, creates barriers for women as business leaders, decision-makers and entrepreneurs
To empower women who live at Rwenshama fish-landing site on Lake Edward so that they can be able to establish their own business and earn income and improve their livelihoods and that of their families.
To empower women to explore and utilize business opportunities at the site
To address violence against women. RWOTA empowers women to address violence and other risks they face as they do business at the landing site
To empower women to create successful enterprises and increase their ability to create a viable livelihood
